Door Trim

Morning Chaps,
I am looking to get the walnut veneer dashboard on my S3 redone and also the door stips as they are flaking. Any idea about where to go and what to replace it with.

I live in the South West, ta very much.

For Veneer London Carriage Company for the dash. The side strips I'm not too sure. Most owner either polish them or paint them. If you're looking for Stainless Steel Effect overlay Dash give me an email, I have a brand new one in my garage, complete with switch panel.

I re-covered my door trims in sticky wood effect plastic. You can buy it in rolls from hobby shops, OK it's not a perfect match with the dash but looks a lot better

You have to chip all the old plastic off first, that takes longer than fitting the new covering!

I just peeled of the plastic on the door and polished the ally



Ive also recovered the dash and switch panel,its not to difficult to get a good result.LCC will probably charge £300 for the pair,i estimate this on there charge just for the switch panel being £100 inc vat and postage

Remove the strips from the doors and use paint stripper to get the old plastic off, then shine them up with chrome polish. It takes no time at all (make sure you wash paint stripper off with loads of soapy water).

Polishing them up is fine...unless you want to keep the wood effect!

Thanks for the repllies. I will probably go the route of pollishing door trims but might have to have the dash finished in something else as re-veneering too much money. Stainles steel not my first thought though.
