Renovation of your hood!
Discussion
I considered having to buy a new soft top for the S. well I noticed the add on the site for RENOVO soft top reviterlizer. I would say that so far it seems a good little kit. For about £50 you get all you need for an S roof to recolour, reproof, rear screen polish, and a dry cleaner. so if your top is looking sruffy but sound I would say go for it, cheaper than a new hood.

Yes, "Ultra Proofer."

I've only ever used Fabsil (brushed on), but others swear by Thomsons. Avoid getting it on the bodywork & rear screen.

As much as I am a quoted fan of Renovo, a more cost effective option is to use Autoglym's Super Resin Polish on the plastic, achieves the same standard finish but a bigger bottle for the same price (+ you can use it on the bodywrork as well).
Here's one I made earlier............

How many coats do I need...?
Podie, With the Thompson water seal use a generous coating but it’s easy to gauge as the hood will soak up as much as it needs but as mentioned before make sure you don’t get any on the paintwork and if you do remove it before it dries.

first time I did mine I ended up flicking a load of the stuff on to the section in front of the bootlid - not too hard to get off but now just strongly dab it into the section of roof below the rear screenm rather than slap the brush across that bit. Other areas I wanted to slap on as much as possible to ensure it did its good.
Jonzo said: Where do i purchase this Fabseal or Thomsons waterproofer?..Halfords? or DIY shops?
You can get Fabseal at camping shops or Thompsons at B&Q/Do-it-All, etc. I've tried both products and prefer Thompsons. If you buy the Thompsons don't buy the super version, just get the bog-standard one.
