Having diagnosed play in one of the half shafts on my S2 I am about to head out to purchase a pair of CV joints. A search of previous threads has thrown up some part numbers but any advice on fitting to supplement the bible and Haynes would be welcome.
Thanks

Worth replacing the CVs in pairs in my experience.

It's reasonably straight forward, as you'd expect. Couple of circlips securing the inner to the half shaft, very obvious set of bolts holding the outers onto the diff and hub respectively. The bolts may be difficult to shift, and will need to be done up tight to stop the CV shifting and fretting. (Ended up with a nice elliptical set of bolts on mine, when they weren't done up tight enough.) Also give the half shaft a quick once-over whie its off, it is rare to break them on standard cars but at one time I had a habit of breaking the half shafts just by the outer circlip retaining groove, at the diff end. (Got some redesigned ones to cure this now.)
