Just posted a quick summary to my website of how the trip on Monday 10/02/2003 went for me to pick up my recently purchased S2.

Remember Im from Northern Ireland and this car is just North of London, this involves Flight over, pick up car, drive 400 miles to Scotland, get boat and arrive home.

Also bear in mind this is a 13 Year old car that I haven't even seen/drove yet!!

Darren,
Welcome to the club .
Glad your journey home all went well. If I'd known you were down at hopwood services I'd have got my S out and driven the 3 miles to meet you. Happy TVR'ing.
Tony.
P.S. Nice looking car!

Darren, welcome to the sclub, enjoyed ther story of your journey on the site , top bloke rob.
re the baseball cap, I find that this time of year you can't beat a good benny hat to keep the cold at bay

I must admit, the thought of a benny hat was very appealing whilst driving along the motorway , but I perserved until the sky looked like it might turn to rain, and as it would be my first time putting the roof on I didn't want to do it in a rush

Anyway, back to the garage to tinker some more, It's after midnight too, I hope other people tinker with their new TVR's well into the wee hours as well. My wife is hoping it's just cos it's new

The benny hat is the usual hat of choice but only problem is it doesnt keep the sun out of your eyes with the roof down. And I dont like wearing shades being a four eyed blokey.

Shmern welcome to the S club! Great feeling isn't it!

Get yourself a PH beanie (fleecey and nice and warm) - perfect for the roof off blast (Ted, do I get commission? )

Nice colour car actually... not seen one like that before... and looks to be in pretty good nick.

Can't give any advice on the dash board, but can for the carpet and seats! Get yourself some autoglym leather cleaner and leather feeder cream. Clean the leather several times, and then use the feeder cream. I've found that doing this once a week has breathed new life into the seats and leather.

As for the carpets... 1001 Carpet cleaner! I kid you not. Fantastic stuff. Use as directed on the bottle, and by the time you vacumn it off, it's SO much better in there. Also works wonders on the non-leather and non-carpet bits too...!

Another welcome from an S2 owner - also enjoyed your write up - why not enlarge it a bit and submit to Sprint (Car Club Mag) with pics? If not a member, why not join and then submit article. Tony Connor (editor) always in need of articles.

Hey "Tonystiney" were are you? I'm only 10 minutes fro Hopwood Services - could have had an S meeting of our own!

Dave, I live in Selly Oak. Just had the afternoon off .Taking my father for a blast before he returns to the Gulf. I think the roof will stay on today!

Excellent choice Shmern (yes I too have an S2). Liked the write-up. Bodywork looks in very good nick. Should be a stunner once to get the interior sorted.

Roy.

Are you going to West Mids meeting on Sunday - Bulls Head in Meridan from about midday?

If so, I'll check with me bruvver - he's got a Tuscan,
and we could go in convoy (I'm near the M42/M5 junction in Bromsgrove)-however if it's wall to wall rain I'll probably not take the S2.
