Don't remember ever disconnecting mine - I seem to remember there's a fair bit of free length on the loom once the window switches are disconnected, so I've been able to leave everything else wired up.

Removing the mirror switch:-Just for info if you pull the square plug off the round collar unscrews

Peter in need it right out of the way to wire in a ISO conector for the CD and tidy the wiring up
