Could anyone describe how the blower direction swicth on the dash works (the one that directs the flow of heated air towards the feet/ towards the wind screen) mine is stuck on the demist setting (blowing onto the windscreen). Mine seems to have a cable attached - where does this go to to direct the flow. I have searched but the threads aren't too helpful

The cable that directs the air goes right behind the dash about 6-8 inches to the left of the steering column and about 10 inches back from the dash

Is the cable stuck i.e. the lever wont move or is it loose, if its stuck best bet could be to squirt some penetrating oil down the cable as the other end is not easy to get to

the cable is still attached to the slider and exits to the left towards the passenger foot well. Moving the slider make the whole cable move so I suspect the outer has come detached from somewhere and its no longer pulling the innner through it.

Hmmmm, the outer sleeve of the cable is clamped in place so it could easily have popped out

TBH it doesn't matter which end is loose its going to be a sod to fix
