After 8 years of happy driving the faithfull S2 finally needs some serious work. Several parts of the chassis need replacing and the whole thing treating. Whilst the body is off I'm considering what else I might give some attention to. The manifolds are paper thin and have been patched up probably for the last time. The Cologne 2.9V6 has done about 80,000 miles and dribbles a bit (as I'm sure I would if I'ld done the same). I'm wondering if now might be the opportunity for a replacement. But if I'm replacing why not upgrade? Does any one out there have any experience of this and what are the pit falls? Open to any suggestions (relating to the car) but I'm up against the clock a bit (2weeks till work starts). Thanks guys.

I think a few S drivers have put a 24v cosworth in, it was something I had planned to do in the fullness of time....I think 'shnozz' on ph was one of them. Apparently it transforms the car. There are obvious modifications needed

Also 'honourablepickle' currently selling his V8s is going to do something mental like putting a skyline engine in a willing donor 's'. Good man.
