Yippee, gearbox seal is out.

Finally got the exit shaft seal out along with what looks like some form of rock hard filler and sealant . The seal flange has in the past taken a pasting hence the filler stuff. I`ve straightened the flange and now need to scource a new seal, then I`ll be till the wheels fall off
