I should be on a roof about now and its almost wet enough to hold S club Heaven again so I will take a few minuets to explain my problem.
Despite being accused of cheating at SCH3 and despite not being in the top five at S club washout , I think my car is very loud .
My wife does not enjoy the fact that I have a car that makes little children have nosebleeds and after our last trip out together she issued me with an asbo. So i turned round my baseball cap kicked the dog and went and played some music that just consisted of thumping sounds. ( i would just like to point out that i metaphorically kicked the dog , i don`t have a dog anymore and if i did i wouldn't kick it )
I did try the , "What I need is a new TVR" cos they make them quiet these days, but even i though that was a long shot.
My dilemma was reinforced yesterday when I had a run out to Uppingham ( did u here me Longers ) one of my customers was going away and i promised him his bill before he went, he is a real character ex Army Major who then ran a family hotel for many years and yes, his name is Basil. So i turned down Uppingham Hight Street and there sat the local chavs on the bonnet of a corsa , so i had to oblige , didn`t i . Bit of right foot high buildings either side couple of pops on the over run , fantastic fun.
However walking down the high street at this very moment was said customer, as I came past he and his friend turned round with looks of total horror on the faces , he was about to ball-out a teenage tearaway only to find me siting in the car grinning.
You can imagine the conversation that followed ( all in good humour) something like , "on a Sunday" "far too loud" "people might see me talking to you" and my reply "yes I`m a bad person" "just tell them you were telling me off" to-wit his friend said "well he was"
All this and the strange onset of a headache every time I go out in the car has made me consider , is there away to make the car quieter . Did I read that someone had track day silencers on their pipes? if so where do i get them and how much.
I may even get my asbo rescinded.

Chap that I bought my S3C from sold it largely because his other half couldn't stand the noise. I found a large bag on ear plugs in the boot when I cleaned it out. i suppose track day silencers or more liberal application of the right foot might help, but personally never tried either option..

Yes I did, but I was in Peterborough, not Uppingham at the time
I don't want to be ridiculed for saying this, but Dales car is
loud, I think a bit too loud for me if on a long drive. There's also the added the annoyance factor for the neighbours - I get plenty of comments from them now, but at current decibels they are complimentary! There are lots of owener who seem to want a louder exhaust so why not try and arrange a swap. Or, try something like this www.pistonheads.com/sales/94939.htm
Trackday silencers might help - can't remember who makes them but I'm sure some are adervtised in Sprint.
