Just as I sorted the windscreen washer issue - another problem appears - don't you just love TVRs! A neighbour's told me I had no reversing lights recently. I've got brake lights which I think are covered by the same fuse so it can't be that. The switch appears to be on the o/s of the gearbox above the exhaust - fairtly inaccessible unfortunately. The connector appears to be OK though. Anybody got any thoughts? HarryW - didn't you have a reversing light problem a while back? What did that turn out to be?

Access to the switch is reatively easy if you loosen the top tunnel and take the gear gaters off, as you said the switch is to the left of the box just below the selector. It has connectors here as well so you can check the action of the switch with a multimeter.
My problem were a combination of the connector and poor earth to the rear light cluster (NS rear earthing point by the tank). I didn't take the switch out but I would have thought it quite straight forward from above.
I hope this helps.

Bear in mind that the switch position is adjustable, and if it's slightly out of tolerance the lights might come on at the wrong time (during gear changes etc) or only when you pull the gear lever in the right direction. If you're investigating this, its easiest done backed up against a wall at night so you can see the reflection of the lights.
