Hi guys, I ain't no mechanic and am totally useless under the bonnet and want to check/fill up my coolant. Is it a case of just opening the 'swirl' tank (the red one near the radiator) and filling it up with water and some anti-freeze or am I better off just getting somebody who knows what they're doing to do it? 
Yes that's all there is to it. If you're in a hard water area, use distilled water. If you're only adding a small amount of water then you can add neat water, there's no need to muck about with the antifreeze. If you're filling from scratch or topping up a regular leak then you need to add antifreeze to stop the coolant from getting too diluted.
