Clutch hydraulic pipe

Having a mare getting hold of the copper hydraulic pipe, or a braided replacement. All the garages I try only do brake pipes. I do remember seeing an on-line supplier mentioned on here a while ago but for the life of me can't find the thread... any suggestions please

buy a brake pipe kit for £20 or so - not only can you make your own clutch pipe, but also all the brake pipes you'll ever need.

Is it the same dia pipe though? All the garages have sucked their teeth whilst saying its a larger bore pipe I need...

brake pipe kits can deal with more than 1 pipe diameter, as long as you have the right end fittings.

If your garage honestly can't make a simple bit of hydraulic pipe, you need a new garage.

Any size hydraulic pipe will do as long as the end fittings are right. I went through several copper clutch pipes on my S2 before switching to plastic, it seems the vibration and movement between the engine and chassis eventually do the copper pipes in.

I have recently replaced to copper pipe, the pipe size on my S3 was 1/4inch, I managed to get some pipe from a commercial fitter (lorry mechanic) and the fittings from the local motor factors.

I spent some time trying to find one or get one made for my old S but it appears that the unions and the pipe itself are not usually available. In the end I called Automec; they had it available from stock. I think they have it listed as the same the Tasmin 280. I spoke to them over the phone, and told the the dimensions of the unions and they identified it straight away. Unfotunately I don't have the invoice (or the car ) anymore so I don't have the part number.
