Looks like I'm off to replace a rear wheel bearing this weekend. I shall be spending this evening reading Haynes and the bible but any helpful hints would be welcome.

which haynes manual do you refer to for the S ???
The recommended Haynes for these cars is the Sierra V6 which covers quite a few areas of the car.
