TP Connector Wiring Issue

Finally decided to do a small job on the s instead of driving it today
(Only becuse the drive was blocked by the rest of the families cars and they've all buggered off out)
Anyway having fitted a new Throttle Pot' last year which cured all the problems I was having I thought it was about time I finished the job and cut the old connector off and fitted the new one with the Gold connectors, especially as I have had two occasions recently whereby the connection has been playing up and needed wiggling to put right.
Before I cut the old one off I decided to mark the wires as I am colour blind and could hardly notice any difference in them except for some Tracer colours.When I put the two connectors side by side it is obvious that the colour coding has changed on the outside wires,now thats not a problem as the wire colour is irrelevant, unless its been done for a reason??????? I was intending to just rewire it as it was but then I wondered if there is a reason for the change, should the actual wiring of the unit be altered????
Anyone got any thoughts or done it??? The Ford part Number for the wiring assembly is 5028499.It may be that it doesn't matter but I dont know and if Ford have gone to the trouble of modifying this unit with the gold conn's surely they wouldn't have wired it wrong (colour wise) or maybe its modded for a later model and that would explain it.Heres acouple of pics showing the difference.

There was a lengthy thread on this some time ago and a few of us compared how our TP was wired up - I can't remember if we ever established any "consistency" - somebody (was it Kentish?) swapped theirs over and found that if you wire up the outside connectors the wrong way around, it still works, I think, but not as well.
