Hi all, please dont beat me up for the username

Anyway, as originally a Blackpool lad Im returning to my roots from a car perspective and looking at purchasing an S (probably S2/S3 - though not sure of major advantages/disadvantages of either). Im no mechanic and wandered if anyone out there does or can do an inspection (pre purchase), for the appropriate fee/expenses of course!
In terms of where - I have seen a couple of cars in the South East (Kent, Essex, London, Surrey etc etc). I have picked up some basic info from this forum: Outriggers, chassis etc. but could do with some advice, even though im not looking to spend a fortune to buy Id like to avoid a complete basket case.
Whilst Im at it, anyone know a decent mechanic who could work on an S in the SE London/Kent area?

I have not used him myself however have only read good things about Rob Ingelby who is well known for carrying out such inspections - he advertises in Sprint which is the TVRCC monthly magazine however I am sure if you do a search on here you will find some contact details - it appears you have done a bit of homework already as you mentioned the important stuff - outriggers / chasis etc there is a buyers guide here www.tvrsseries.com/
As far as I know the main differences between S2 and S3 are they have different dashboard arrangement and the S3 has longer doors - I have read a lot of times that the later the car better the build quality.

Most TVR owners rounnd se london/kent use Austec at crawley.
For getting an inspection done,if your not confident yourself ask if a local tvr garage can check it over
