S3C Rocker Covers

Does any one know if the rocker covers from a 2.8 (Capri, Sierra etc.) will fit the 2.9 lump in the S3C?

I need to tidy the engine up, so if anyone has any suggestions for painting enamaling etc. not already mentioned on the forum I would be happy to hear them.

No the 2.8 ones won't fit - they are a different shape (essex heads on 2.8, cologne on 2.9). 2.8 has 7 cover bolts, 2.9 has 8 (there are more fundamental differences than that but that's the easy way to tell them apart)

I painted mine with smooth Hammerite. Before that I had them polished and lacquered which looked fab.

Got mine chromed, it took approx. one week and cost me £70 from memory.

I was planning on Hammeriting mine - horrible stuff to work with but it does what it says on the tin, so...
BTW did you know that you can clean your brushes after using Hammerite with just a bar of real soap and some warm water ? just work the soap into the brush and then rinse... sounds unlikely but it works

i took mine off, sanded a bit & then hammerited...it did the trick
