Hi all
I know that I don't post on here very often but I'm after some advice.
I'm toying with the idea of selling the S3 (a car that I love desperately :-) and moving to a Griff 500, and I suppose I'd like to ask if others on here would do the same given the chance. I know this might seem like an emotive post
but I'm trying to convince myself (in either direction) and so far I have an equal list of pro's and con's for each.
I'll await the comments/flames with baited breath

if you dip your toe in the stream Rod you know what will happen......
I do see the Griff as the natural progression from the S. IMHO it simply amplifies everything the S stands for. And the 5 litre will give you that "little" bit more performance
Although that would mean it would piss on my fire driving around Waterside Park
BTW - saw you on your way out Thursday now that you have the S back. I had been away for the week and was returning home (having left my car outside my place) to see an H reg S heading towards me down Victoria Road
My heart skipped several beats before I could make out in the dusk that it was red
I dont want to put you off the idea of the Griff, but the S did look fantastic......

No don't do it.
I bought a Griffith last November, I had an S1 for 12 years perviously, and after 3500 weekend only miles I'd say don't do it.
The Griffith is too civilised, it doesn't feel fast, there's no wind in the hair, and you can't see out the back with the hood down. It is too quiet and you have to visit Shell stations every 220/230 miles for 50L of the good stuff. You also have to add liquid gold (Mobil1). There is no bump steer through the PAS and the exhaust hasn't grounded yet - no sparks!
However get it to 4000rpm and it's great, everyone disappears and you have the overtaking performance relative to modern cars as the S had in 91. The mpg is about 20mpg.
Two problems,
1) is that I can see I'll spend a lot of time speaking to the
2)which car do I take to the Hen and Chicken this Thursday. - yes I still have the S.
