Well first things first I'm new to all this, had my S2 for a whole 5 days now. Mines a 1990, G Plate, with 50k on the clock and I got it for 4750 so I reckon that one is about right on the money front.
Pictures dont always give a true representation but that does look like a good one and the new outriggers can't be bad, check how much history is with it, I have an A4 binder thats full of old receipts MOT, etc which shows it's been cared for.
If you are near by go see, if not get more pictures and talk to owner, I was 160 miles from mine and did this, I agreed a price and went down to collect on the basis it was as described.
SOmeone more experienced in s's will be along in a minute with a more helpfull post :-)

Welcome to the nuthouse, if the chassis is fine then it sounds good. Springs are about 13 quid each but check the shocks, if they are shot then your bill for springs and shocks is about 400 plus. The clutch is hydraulic, so check up behind the pedal for fluid, signs of a leaking master cylinder. C/V joints and propshaft universal joints; listen for clunking or clicking souns whilst driving, these are cheap enough to replace. I`m sure other people will have other things to look for and will be along soon.
Ah but Norfolk has no winding hilly roads, and the ditches are full of water !
Northumberland is where the smooth challenging roads are...
check out the A686 from Haydon Bridge to Penrith over Hartside Pass... its a bit like Snake Pass but longer and smoother...
perhaps we should run a suggested (as it's all a matter of opinion anyway) best TVR Road competition ? or has it been done already... oops and sorry for stealing your thread mate... maybe a new topic ?

Time of year? Still broke after christmas? Waiting for sunny weather? General slow-down in the market? Glurbal Waarmin'? 
Don't think I'd be too worried about this. There was a thread on here a while ago about difficulties shifting V8S cars for utter bargain prices. Maybe the same thing is happening to V6s too? Perhaps not good news if you're selling, but great if you're in the market to buy.
I am weary of britts telling you that a car is excellent. My seller said the same thing and it was crap, reeeeeaally crap!
From the description this one sounds pampered. But under the bonnet IMHO it doesn't look pampered at all..it looks somewhat neglected. On closer look the interrior has quite some wear and tear. Replacement of outriggers is good but indicative of the overall state and it doesn't look like anything else, exept carpets, has been overhauled atthe time. Or am I too cynical.
I'd have someone with extensive S experience check before buying.

Hey Olav, you just need to be able to translate the description... here's a start and I'm sure others will know more:
Description == Means:
One careful owner == about the third one, had loads of others that did not care.
One previous owner == Avis or Hertz
Rust Free == no extra charge for the rust
MOT'd == I have a mate that gave me a ticket without seeing the car
Reluctant Sale == desperate to sell
genuine reason for sale == desperate to sell
never seen rain == blind driver

Ha, Ha, ha! Thanks! Now I understand! And hey....it really is a good thing when said "just had brandnew, thick(!), layer of high quallity undersealment, good for years of adventurous motoring" right?
