My Photo Album website dumped me so I had to create new... so heres my rebuild album so far...

Hi Kevin. Looks like you're making good progress and the photos are great. But judging by the article in this month's Sprint, you've still got a little way to go - have you seen the pictures of that V8S?? Now that's clean...
No sign of the video in your photo album! And what do you mean the 'sound is poor'??? I thought we sounded fantastic!

Cheers Kevin. Might be a bit chilly in the barn this week, but hope you still manage to make some progress with the refurb.
It's doubtful I'll be at the TVRCC meet this weekend either - I'm away with work on Friday but might make a weekend of it. Nothing so glamorous as Milan or Paris though - I'm off to Manchester!! Have a good trip Graham, see you both soon.

Really ? I was thinking of replacing or shimming my mounts as the anti-roll bar has previously worn a hole in the sump which has been patched. It has had a piece of rubber jammed between the two, presumably to help stop it happening again. I was thinking of shimming the mounts to raise the engine to increase the gap... I cant think why mine would be higher already... got me worried now.
I'll add some photos this weekend to show what I mean.
That observation is based on the apparent gap you have between the o/s manifold and the top chassis tube. It does look a fair bit larger than on mine, I'll have to get the camera out I think.
I've also got a problem with the ARB. I've taken it out for painting and noted there was a wear mark on top, not very big but it had clearly been rubbing on the sump. Thankfully it isn't holed but remedial action is definitely required. I had planned to shim the mounts but now having second thoughts. They appear to have slumped a bit so I may replace and maybe shim as well, looks like a pig of a job.

Pic on here that shows the gap, looks a bit smaller don't you think. Could be different manifolds of course plus the mounts have definitely sagged a bit. Not sure whether thats a shim under the o/s or the mount itself coming apart.

Strewth Geoff I see what you mean ! I just got back last night and saw the article... clean? clinical more like. I would be happy to get mine as good as his "before" pictures. Never mind eh? I'll just keep chipping and scraping, rubbing and painting... at the end of the day its the driving I got it for... roll on May
Oh and if you read this Mr Andy Hills and you get bored with polishing your own motor, I think I might have a little job for you...

Hi Ken, sorry for the long wait for a reply... I wanted to check out the receipts I received with the car... Yes an Otter switch was fitted by Tower View Racing Services in 1999 at a cost of £15.89 for the switch. no other details I'm afraid. I can take a closer photo if you want a better look ?

OK theres a boss welded to the tube. I will photo it when I get home on friday and add the photo to my photo album. I dont think I have a clear picture of it just now.
