MIL - Dumb quetion

Hello

I have the dashboard out of my S3 and can see that the MIL has no connections to it.

Q 1 - Should it have connections -
In Steve Heaths book it says its used as an oil warning light on V8 versions

Q 2 - What is MIL ( sorry if its a dumb question )

MIL stands for Malfunction Indicator Lamp. If there is a problem with the ECU (engine control unit) then this will light up.

On my S2 it was unused and I wired it up to the oil pressure warning sensor (which was previously also unused).
