Bleed nipple

Changed the brake fluid last week for some Dot 5.1. Got the job done and then i noticed what i presume to be a bleed nipple hidden under the fluid bowl on the barrel of the master cylinder.Is this to be bled right at the end or is it just to get rid of the air when starting from scratch? p.s. taxed the car yesterday ready for the first run out and guess what it's pizzing down sods law i guess.

would give that a bleed to get the last of the air out. when i done mine i followed the order on the easybleed kit and i think i done that one last.

It doesn't do any harm to bleed it, but I wouldn't expect to get any air out unless the system had been run dry. It's mainly needed to let air out of the rear cylinder during the initial fill.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a quick do with the ezi-bleed and see if it improves the slightly spongy feel to the pedal,it's so long since i drove the car i can't remember precisely what it was like before.

Not sure you should have gone the 5.1 route, I seem to remember someone telling me that it eats the seals on standard systems, maybe worth checking.
