S3 replacement rad'.....

Hello chaps,

It appears that the rad in my '90 2.9 S3 has developed a small leak. It isn't anything to be worried about at the moment but I do want to get it replaced. Is there a donor vehicle out there or is this a 'bespoke' part. Because I am an impatient sod I can't be arsed to get it refurbed (but I may once I have a replacement bolted in the car
Any help gratefully received.....

The only "replacement" items I know of are aluminium ones available from TVRcarparts.com, but the price is somewhat off-putting, to put it mildly.

There is no straight donor vehicle. The radiator is basically Leyland Sherpa bits but with extra cores, so the standard one doesn't fit.

I had mine recored, and then a couple of years later a repair to a stub. Recore costs around £130, drop it off one day and pick it up the next. If it's only a tiny leak or a crack they might be able to resolder it - they refitted a stub on mine for £20.

They are easy to get re-cored.

The original donor vehicle was the infamous LDV van IIRC with either on more or less segments, but it is all stock-in-trade stuff for a radiator repair business.
