I have a wedge - 87 350i s2. The only car I want now is a bigger wedge! Nuff said?
By the way. They may seem cheap to buy for what you get but the 'cheap' bit ends the day you buy it. Remember though they are bloody quick group 20+ sportscars and need to be treated as such... TVR grin

TVR grin. This may cause contraversy but i drove a 350i (1987) prior to buying my S (a friend of mine owned it) so in my opinion, i would say:
It felt a lot less agile & handling on the wedge was worse, this may of just been a size thing. I wasnt that impressed by the engine power either, i would still put my V6 S up against it today.... however he may of taken it to heart as he had it bored to 390i spec afterwards.
At the end of the day, TVR's of this vintage all feel different, i have a good S & his wedge may of had knackered shocks.... but for me the S was the right choice.

I have a Wedge .. 400SE.
almost as fast as a V8S ... its marginal.. Handles better IMHO.. no axel tramp.
Very much of a muchness really, the wedge seems more direct in its steering cos it has PAS, V8S has a nicer exhaust note .. that big bore warble of twin pipes.
Wedges generally have better ground clearance, but again, marginal...
of and wedges generally donot have an offset front wheel!.

See if you can get to try both. Get the one you prefer. Theres no point starting on the 'mines bigger than yours' ladder...there will always be someone with a faster car. Unless you happen to drive a top fuel drag racer or some such.
In general terms, S's and Wedges are as good as each other. In the long run, you'll be much happier with a car that you prefer in terms of look and feel.
