Indicator Lens OH GOD not again

A while back someone (TVRGIT,V8S??????) posted a reply regarding taking the front lens off the original indicators and fitting the KIA ones, I am at that stage now and cant remember what glue to use to stick them on with .Was it silicon ?? as there seems to be a bit of an overlap at the end of the housing body which I would like to fill in to seal the unit, also I tried an Airfix type glue and it was just too brittle.

Look on tvrgits website, I found the answer to your problem in the search facility but I don`t know how to put the thread on here, I`m no good on these computer thingies.

I really should index some of this stuff - I can find it only because I can (sometimes) remember when I did it!

It's on my web site in August 2006.

As for the glue, I used a loctite plastic glue - you paint a felt marker thing (activator) on then the glue - I only used a few tiny blobs so that I could get it apart again if I had to. Then smear silicon into the gap just to waterproof it. Silicon will never actually stick it together, I think.

Every now and again a gem of an idea comes along and this is one of them, also if you find that your seat belt stalks dig into your ribs then fit Peugeot 307 stalks, worked on my S2 a treat,

I have to point out that the Kia lens wasn't my idea originally, I read it on here a couple of weeks before... I'd been looking for an alternative for months before (I think Jag XJS ones will fit BTW) but only photographed the process when I did mine!

Well I did the Kia indicators, and simply put silicon around, rather than glue. If you think about it the mounting screws hold the thing together so all I wanted to do was to seal it from water.

I did exactly the same - it seems to work fine.

Incidentally, I noticed today that the Ford Maverick has similar shaped indicators. I'm not sure of the precise dimensions, though.

The Kia ones fit perfectly well anyway.
