More power from 2.9 EFI

What is the easiest way to get a bit more power from my 2.9 EFI? I was going to do this later, but now I have a leak coming from the fuel pressure regulator, I thought I might start now, assuming I may have to change it anyway.

you should try giving paul at austec racing a call and have the car chipped.
I'm just in the process of having mine done hope to have the car back next week.

Hello Simon, how much did it cost and have you got any performance figures?

Hi steve the chip cost £450 not got any performance figures as yet,going to take the car back to Austec at the end of the month for those.

Have a read of a posting put on here sometime ago now by a guy my the name of podie, chipping is remapping of the ECU.

Do a search for Dastek Unichip installers, there's loads all over the country ..

Austec did mine and they are superb chaps, i had a number of problems, coked cyl's, broken throttle cable, new throttle pots, all while it was on the rollers. it took them two days to get it right & even then Paul made me go back after 500 miles to extract another 10hp due to the coking.

It was a fairly long trip for me, but worth it.

my figures were 171Hp & 224 lb/ft - great torque curve, just pulls & pulls from 2000 to 6000. much more drivable
