I think there are full instructions on the Bible. I haven't done it myself but you do need to drop the rear portion of the exhaust.

Fuel tank leaks all too common in the S series. From the sound of it you dont seem to be leaking from the area of the fuel sender unit, which might have been a cheap and quick fix by replacing the gaskets. As far as i know fuel tanks for the S no longer available from TVR. Your options seem to be:
1. Get the tank repaired/reconditioned by someone who knows what they are doing! (filling the empty tank with inert gas before using any naked flames etc). I think Peninsula might offer this service but not sure, check previous threads.
2. Buy a new stainless steel tank from either Steve Reid or David Gerald (both supply them at about £300ish)
3. Try 'Cold Weld' as a temporary repair if leak is sufficiently high up the side of tank.
Good Luck

bible only seems to talk about removing the tank cradle, unless i missed it,
or is it the case that once the cradle is removed the tank will follow ?

Yes. Probably need to undo the fleixible pipe to the filler cap. If you remove the cradle, the tank has to be supported otherwise it just hangs there

I replaced my fuel tank and was fairly easy. You do not need to remove the exhaust but you will need to undo it at the join to the manifolds as well as all mounting points so you can drop it enough. Jack the car up high!! at the back undo the flexible hose between the filler and the tank then undo the cradle whilst supporting the tank (two bolts either side recessed in the cradle and also two bolt inside the boot floor that goes through to the cradle, remember the rubber spacing blocks which you will find). Also undo all the pipes to the fuel pump and remove that as well, remember the system is pressurised. The cradle will not immediatelty drop as it is a tight fit and you will need to ease it down as square as possible. The tank is held onto the cradle by two straps and when you have fixed the problem, painted the tank and cradle etc you will need to put the tank back on the cradle exactly as it was otherwise it will not fit back up under the car. Good luck its not as big a job as it sounds!!

Depends what you call reasonable, A local (well 50Miles away)Breaker to me has a few smashed S in stock, they would almost certainly have a fuel tank, I can ask how much they want and post it to you. Or you can contact them yourself, although I am in Northern Ireland so just have to factor in that you can't see before you buy.

Let me know, I can give you the details if you need.
