2.8 will start to idle (hunting) quite erratically

This was posted on the TVRCC web site but so far has no answers,i don't know anything about the 2.8 ,so any ideas?
Quite often my S1 2.8 will start to idle (hunting) quite erratically,reving anywhere between 200 and 2000rpm,and sometimes even cutting out altogether.It normally does this after a run,but sometimes it will do it (though not as severe),when just idling in my garage.The problem can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes,and then it settles down to a steady 1000rpm.The car runs great,and you only realise somethings wrong once i,ve slowed right down.Sometimes I just turn off the engine and then re-start it and the problems gone! I,ve checked all my hoses and everything seems fine,but don,t know what else to try.Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I dont have the fault guide for the K-Jetronic with me but a lot of erratic idle problems are caused by airleaks.
I had a similar problem a while back and again all the hoses checked OK.
Problem disappeared when the inlet manifold fixing bolts were retorqued.
At one time it was part of the service schedule for the 2,8 to do this.
