I remember in 1994 a friend buying a run out model of the Vauxhal Cavalier for £10k as a price comparison.

As another yardstick a V8S was about the same price as a well specced Land Rover Discovery in 1993.

That's compound annual depreciation of about 7.5% (depending on what the average value of V8S is today). If the Cavalier had suffered similar rates (and if it's still running) it would be worth about £3.5k.

Anybody know what else cost about £24k in 1993?

Just for comparason purposes, my S3 was £17k in 1991 - still got the bill of sale and options list in the folder at home...
