Diff whine???

First of all I'd like to say that my new S is great.....I love it.....but at speeds of over 80mph there is a noticeable whine from the rear of the car. My money is on the diff, what do you guys reckon??

Mine started like this last year and then developed into a vibration so I bought a second hand diff £50 from a PHer and swapped it over which solved the problem completely - whilst removing the diff I took the opportunity to renew all the CV joints which made sense while everything was apart, I also took the prop shaft to my local prop shaft repair place who checked it over on their balancing machine and confirmed all was OK - providing you have access to ramps it was about 1/2 a days graft for me.
