Front Headlamps

I've a much loved and cherished S3 but the front headlamp units are starting to rust.(Both the lamp units and the chrome rings). Does anyone know where i can get hold of replacements. Preferably both parts, although just improving the rings would make a huge difference.

I think the surrounds are from the old shaped mini's, but I could be wrong.

Yes they are, I think you have to remove a lug , do a search on this forum it has been discussed before or look it up in the Bible.

Indeed I think you'll find there of many of the BMC cars of the 60's/70's you could look at MGB chrome surrounds.

I got the stainless mini spares ones and bought Wipac Quadoptics for the lamp units (£35.00 the pair delivered) themselves as I wanted the more traditional look than the clear quartz units give. I'm pleased with the results and they were dead easy to fit - even with the baked bean tin tab (made mine from a stailess jubilee clip)

Kevtvrin means the "new look" Crystal Halogen lights where the lens is clear plastic and the beam pattern is on the Reflector. I have used both the Wipac Quadoptic and the Crystal Halogen lights and they are both very good. Make sure you go for the handed type if you go Crystal Halogen.

Thanks from over here as well. The left reflector on my S3C is starting to show some rust, so to get an even look I will replace both left and right.
Does anybody know where the foglights (S3 and V8S) come from?

Ive fitted xenon bulbs to mine with the power packs.what a differance it makes.pure brilliant white light instead of the usuall dull light of normal bulbs.the kit is an easy swap and comes with a 15month warrenty on the kit and bulb.i will try to post a picture tomorrow.cheers

The original spotlamps are part number is LDB126, CODE 2019. Listed as SPOTLAMP KIT (includes 2 spotlamps.

The Bloke I bought my S2 off bought some of the bezels off TVRCarparts.com back in 2005. I have the invoice.

Part number TS28M10006 @ £23.75 each

if its just the bezels - tvrcarparts also have some in black plastic which might suit some colours better than the shiny chrome ones. I bought some cheapo chrome ones which are peeling already so might end up with the 'matt alloy' look before switching to the black ones!

the ones on the photo on my profile are the minispares ones = stainless steel and were dirt cheap

Is that a full HID conversion?

Did you relace the side lights as well or are they the originals?

Any details of the kit you used would be great - thinking about doing this upgrade.
