eBay indicator lenses - rip off?

Just found these on eBay. Only available as 'Buy it now' and not even the original Sherpa van lenses...

Think I'll stick with my four quid Kia ones.

Last time the proper lenses were on ebay a pair went for £80 !

Bet you could get them for less than £20 a pair though.

I saw them too Geoff and agree that it seemed a bit steep, particularly when there is so much well documented advice on this forum on alternatives. Good luck to him though I say as someone will probably pay it !

Perhaps my original post was a little harsh...

But I'm surprised that no-one has produced a batch of replica lenses using an original one as a template. Particuarly when there have been so many threads on this subject and they are apparently changing hands at £80 a pair

wasn't there a posting recently about BMW E30 (1980's 3 series) indicators fitting? could it be those?

got mine a few weeks ago from the local ldv/daf dealer.paid £11.00 each no problem.they have changed the part number i belive so i think it depends on if the parts guy can be bother to look for them.

Just thought I'd ring round local Leyland DAF dealers.
Got all excited when Leicester said they had got one - he went to look in the stores and it wasn't there
None of them knew of a new part number it is listed as obsolete from 27/7/05

I have a sales invoice dated 26/08/06 from a local Kia dealer (now out of business)for 2 x indicator lamp lens part number KKY0151073 for £9.02 (inc vat). I have very short garage and have a tendency to need frequent replacements for the front of my S1!!!

the lenses are E30BMW (non M3)the orange inner lenses can be removed leaving the smoked outer lense looking a deeper tint. i have done this conversion on my V8S and it looks great, this allows me to keep my original lenses on the shelf to be fitted when the car goes up for sale.The lenses were £8 inc vat for both, i was lucky when fitting due to having 2 original sherpa backplates to fit the new lense covers. The job only took half an hour and fitted with no extra holes drilled and very little fuss.

Good to see another E30 convert. Looks good on mine too. Just bought spare pair of smoked lenses on ebay for £3.48 + P&P. Agree, can use outer smoked and orange bulb or keep amber insert in lens and use clear bulb. Anybody thinking of changing bulb will need to be aware they need to get bulb with same pin locations. E30 bulb wont fit original bulb holder (unless you file one pin off, still works perfectly! Or fit some Toyota push in bulb holders)
