Last 2 at Leyland DAF dealer in Wolverhampton, bought for £7.23 each +VAT (Amazing how everyone seems to pay a different price)

I'm still persevering with getting the original mould for the lenses, more here.

Here's a tip - ring round Leyland DAF dealers in your area (use the find a dealer option on the leyland daf website) - they are usually part of a group so you only need to ring one dealer in each group - they can search neighbouring dealers stock.
Took me half an hour to track these down, I actually searched further afield when none of the dealers in my local area had any.
They were actually in Shrewsbury (the wolverhampton guy told me this) but they got them shipped to Wolverhampton for the next day which was the nearest dealer to me (still hour and a half each way!).

I reckon there must still be a few dusty ones out there on the shelf !

Also BAU1191 is OK

I used BAU2249 as per above (on the box).
If the part numbers you have are also correct then maybe there isn't the supply issue we thought.

I have just ordered a pair using the AAU9636 part number - I will advise of fit when they come in on Thursday.

Perhaps we have been caught in a change of part number rather than a total discontinuation. Here's hoping.

Does anybody know what van they are off and when it stopped being built ?

Doesn't a manufacturer have to support the product with spares for 7 years after production ceases in the motor industry ?

I just rang DAF in Croydon but they said the part number BAU 2249 is obsolete and they are unable to get them. I suppose I will have to get them from http://www.autofast.co.uk/, problem is they want you to send them the money then they send you the goods (what a faf), no concept of paying by card and posting

Autofast are out of stock surely - they were when I rang yesterday. BAU2249 is the only correct part number too.

Managed yesterday to source 2 from DAF dealers, just waiting for the goods to arrive. Part number BAU 2249 is the correct part number I have been told AAU 9636 is for a later face lift version

Yep, though not quite sure it will be enough to retire on just yet.
I've replaced one of my lenses as it had quite a few cracks in it, though I reckon I should still keep it, one day it might be the best one I've got!
Ketvrin ground the edges off his lenses because they were cracked and broken - a great idea if yours are a bit tatty, and I reckon less hassle than the kia lense route.

Hi Ian I wish I could remember I did what was suggested on the start of this thread and just phoned around all the dealers. I managed to get the odd one from stock but spent the best of an hour on the phone. One of the numbers I had luck with is 01257 279414 but it was the last one they had. Sorry it's not much help but I got confused which dealers I had called as I just randomly selected them from the list
