v8 s3 fuel cap and hood cover please help

hi does any one know were i can purchase a locking fuel cap for a v8 s3 please ,and also is it possible to get a good fitting roof area cover for the winter months , as i have just bought a s3 i was a bit unsure about were to get there parts if they are available , please help , thankyou robbie

AFAIK the petrol cap is the same on all S models. It's similar to the locking cap on a Reliant Scimitar SE5/6, but I'm not sure it will fit.

I've had one of these for 18 months. So far it has resisted heavy rain in UK, Spain (last year) and Holland (Zolder last week). Very handy if you want to leave the roof off.

Not so handy if it's windy though - unless you get it absolutely taut. Mine was out for one single windy night and it moved slightly in the wind, just by a few millimetres, but enough for the edge to scratch the paint along the front edge of the boot and the rear edge of the bonnet.

There's a couple of suggestions to convert the existing fuel cap to a locking one in Steve Heaths Bible.
They both involve using a screw, one hidden on the boot and I think the other was an allen screw drilled into the cap itself so you can't press the release catch without an allen key screw first.

I have a rain hood and also a full cover that seem to fit pretty well, Tower View were selling them at one time and probably still sell them.

I haven't seen a locking fuel cap that fits, but it's been suggested that you can fit a mechanical interlock to the standard cap which has a release inside the boot i.e. install a pin or bolt that prevents the release latch from depressing.

PS I'm intrigued, what's a V8 S3?

thanks for all the great feedback , yes i flew to bristol from the isle of man on tuesday the 19th and met up with the owner and his wife after a very little test drive dicided fantastic thats the car for me and payed the £7000 cash for the v8 , (ps thats my back account now empty ) drove from bristol to liverpool 190 miles in less than 3 hours , ( it was a fantastic drive ) shame about the speed limit in the uk, as soon as i got to the mountain road in the isle of man ( no speed limit ) great fun and a bit of a hand full to drive , my other car ( ford mondeo st24 2.5 v6 ) will now be up for sale , and i intend to use the tvr as a every day car , the only down side is every time i get behind the wheel i feel its now my turn in the endurance 24 hour le mans race and want to keep going , it's a very beautiful car to look at and i have had around forty people stop and ask me about it already , my friend is now planning to get 1 for next summer , thanks for all the great feed back and help robbie iom

Its such a to get fuel in, I don't think anyone has bothered trying to stop people attempting to take fuel out...

a great full cover is from a company called MONSOON car covers
they fit round door mirrors etc
you would have to get the griff one
they are GREAT all weathers including a monsoon
they have a soft inside/thick outer and have ears at the top that lets air in
