Great, some little scroat got at my car last night.

Slashed the hood, ripped it open, then crowbarred the door far enough out to get their hand in. They then smashed the ignition barrel, then the immobolizer, realised they were not going to start it and ripped off the entire centre console to get at the radio, which they failed to do. They then decided to rip as much of the wiring out and took a crowbar to the steering column. I am left with a broken car with bits of fibreglass, carpet and wires everywhere. He then left the scene with, wait for it a picnic rug for his efforts, after dripping copious amounts of blood all over. The insurance company are sending a vehicle removal firm round to pick up the car before taking it off for repair, I prey to God I can convince them to use RT and not the local Ford shop. I really am beat, never knew it was possible to cry over a car or wish someone harm...What a piece of scum... and now the suns out!!!!

Geez... what the hell was he trying to nick? The car? A hot TVR is worthless given the small community.

My commiserations. Will the police be able to DNA him?

That's a nightmare. I'm a left wing libertarian by nature but this sort of behaviour is reprehensible. Hang the little bard ! Hope it's back fixed and better than ever before the sun goes back in.

A slow painfull death is too kind for the low life, almost certainly teenagers, who obviously need a good slap before said death :fume:. Hope the car is repaired to your satisfaction and they catch the scum......mindless morons.

Commiserations mate, I dunno what I'd do if I ever caught someone messing with my S3, caught a scroat breaking into my AXGT years ago, chased him down the road and rugby tackled him (let me draw a picture, I'm 17 1/2 stone, he must have been about 10 stone). The little b*stard coughed (in front of witnesses) to the other 15 or so cars he'd 'done' on the estate.

Police called, he repeated the confession, and then I was told by the copper that he'd probably be back to arrest ME for assault. Aparently if I'd collared him beside my car, no prob, because I'd 'chased him' the two incidents were viewed seperatly.

Anyway, it goes to court (after 5 months) with a guilty plea and the judge tells said scroat to seek legal advice and apply for legal aid to get some other advice, net result, guilty becomes not guilty, solicitor get involved, scroat still found guilty and gets 6 months suspended!

Now, at the time cash was tight and that car took me years of graft to pay off, somehow the courts don't seem to be interested in the crime if it is car related. In that time I heard the lot, poor deprived kid, doesn't have a car like that, can't get a job, drugs, broken home...

It seems we (as a society) have tried understanding, forgiving, excuse making, training and rehabilitation, perhaps its time to try something a little more traditional...

Its a real sad world we live in. Nothings sacred is it. If mine were'nt made of fibreglass I'd wire it to the mains, be happy to watch em fry.
Im sure you'll get it back in order, it just leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. At least your in tact.
Best regards.

Ren - I am truly devasted for you. When your car is your pride and joy it is terrible sight to come across. We had numerous break ins a scrotes hanging around and it worries me sick that i will one day come across this scenario. As ted said, its not as if its thieved to sell, just for cheap thrills. How many times do i see that in a teenagers eyes as i drive past and the car sounds so good.

Breath in, relax, let the insurers deal with it and realise what a great car it must be for you to be so upset and how you are the priviledged one in owning it.

Bad news mate.. I really hate it when things like this happen, just so unnecessary. Poor kid, broken home, got caught up in drugs my ar$e.

Sounds not too bad to fix, and with luck will look better than before. Hardly the point, but some consolation perhaps..

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm heartbroken for you Ren, and I think JSG will be too (he still has a lot of affection for that car).

Sorry to hear the news...

Commiserations too Ren. Having spent many, many months last year rebuilding my V8S, I tried to imagine what I'd be feeling if the same thing happened to me - you must be gutted. Make sure if the scroat(s) that did this gets caught you press for the strongest penalty and for compensation! Leave it for the insurance company to sort out for now.

Thanks very much for all the kind words - my sadness is turning to anger so I am going to try some Tai Chi.
YES, the police got DNA samples from the blood so I hope their efforts are rewarded, public flogging at Pistonfest would be good in my book.
Richard at RT is taking delivery of it tomorrow and he will let me know his views then. Thanks again its nice to know you lot are out there.

REN, so sorry to hear of your misfortune. I hope RT have it back on the road soon. I read your threads for the time before you got the car and how pleased you were with it, it is soooo sickening.

Ren,

What can I say. I know how you must feel as I'm feeling devastated even though it's not mine any more.

I hope they catch the b@stard and I'd be happy to help you 'escort him down the stairs' for a chat.

Insist that your insurance company let you get a specialist to do all the work and pray that it's not written off.

Good luck,
John.

Oh man. Words fail me.

We can only hope that everything gets put back as it was, and you get those chips on the door sorted out as a by-product.
