more fun in an S ...
Discussion
Hmmmmmm. Definately food for thought for a chap who is thinking of upgrading to a griff after 2 years with an S3C. More room in the s footwells for my clod hopping feet though....it's just that I'm used to 170 bhp now and it doesn't quite feel fast enough anymore. Maybe I'll get a V8s..oh- I don't know!!! Pass the lager

Have to agree
My current TVR is a tatty S2 with no history & it drives better than all of my previous TVRs put together. Sometimes there's just something that you can't put your finger on - lighter, sweeter and, well, just right! The Chim cost big money to buy, the V8S big money to mainain and get running right & the tatty S2 cost next to nothing to buy & even less to maintain. I think that when you find the right one it's worth keeping it for the duration - just like a good woman!
All the best

Hey guys, don't get too carried away with the S is better. Yep the S is a lot of fun, esp at more road legal speeds. I think James Hunt used to have an A35 for the same reason ...
(Dad has an 850cc A35 van - lots of character - I borrowed it as my first car in the mid 1980's)
However the Griffith is ALOT more of everything, but may be a bit boring when driven on the speedo. Hence I'm keeping the S (as well) for a while.

Lucky you, an S AND a Griff, now that's greedy
I always fancied a Cerbie as a second TVR. I wouldn't do it though, even if I could afford it. Really don't need another car to be cleaned, having just spent the best part of the weekend to get the S all nice and shiny for the trip to Le Mans.
Ive been there too 4.3 grif then 4.3 big valve - cash probems ! - S3c then an other 4.3 grif. #
SC3 better made and more solid in my experience but slow and bloody uncomfortable couldn't wait to get a V8 again shame I can't find another big value though.
And grifs are so cheap now why not get one or 2 and you can get classic insurance as well

Midge said: I must admit, and Podie will verify this, I literally had tears in my eyes when I let my S3c go. Biggest mistake I ever made 'cause I've had nothing but hassle with my 430 Chimaera (that is until I turn the key of course!)
tis true... he disappeared into the house before I had a chance to say bye! Still, the offer still stands Midge - if I see you around, you're more than welcome to come for a blast! Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
