Oil and Water!
Discussion
The S has sprung a leak!
I recently noticed that the S had started to use oil 'shock horror' but on closer inspection it would appear to have sprung a leak.
The water resevour also appears to leak as following fill up (no spillage) there was a puddle under the car and the fluid level went down again.
On reflection the car has been running a little hot recently but at the time i put this down to the warm weather.
If the car has been running hot is it possible that this may have blown the head gasket? and if so how much of a job is this likly to be? (bearing in mind it is now only 8 days til Le Mans departure)
Help!!!!

First thing I would check is that all the water pipes are ok and not cracked or loose, also if the puddle is quite big you should be able to see where the water is coming from.
As to changing the head gasket its not the difficult, it took me about 3 hours to remove both the heads on my s3, I then sent them of to be skimmed and cleaned up, although you may not need to get them skimmed and you should easily be able to clean them up yourself. As to putting it all back together it took me about 4 hours.
I replaced both head gaskets, the inlet manifold gasket, all the head bolts, the plenum gasket and rocker cover gaskets (cost about £160 for the parts from my local ford garage, they got all the parts for me next day).
Hope this helps and good luck !

Blowing the head gasket is usually obvious - temperature goes sky high, oil gets into the water system (have a look in the radiator to see if it's yuk and emulsified).
If it's gone - it's quite a big job to fix - Mr Man has to take the head off the engine remove the old gasket fit a new one and put the head back on. Often - the head gets warped due to the heat tho' or it's a bit corroded in which case it will need skimming (basically filing it down so that it's flat again).
When this happened to my old 306 it cost 500 quid to fix.

I assume you'll check for oil, water and exhaust gases in the wrong places which would point to a head gasket, hopefully it isn't anything like that though. Could be you just overfilled it. How low was the water level before you filled it up? Where is it now - has it reached a steady level or is it still going down? If the water had got *very* low the system may have got an air lock somewhere in which case cooling would suffer and it would tend to spit water out when it got hot - solution is to bleed the system.
Re the oil leak, check for oil drips, check the breathers are not blocked, check for large amounts of oil coming out of the breather, if that all checks out could just be trying to tell you the engine is a bit worn.
