Door lock and electric window "fun"

After letting a friends teenage son sit in the car, the drivers door would not lock using the key ! So I had the fun and games of removing the drivers door panel. This took ages, as there are three long M4 studs that need the tiny nut removing, one by the arm rest and two up near the top hinge. The studs were a bit corroded and working blind it was a fiddle. Eventually I won !
The door lock problem was the actuator rod from the key lock had come adrift from the lock. The rod needed some reshaping and securing with a tie tag. Then "ping" the cable to the inner door release came off !!! Working with a mirror I could not work out where this had come from, so had to drop the whole lock out
After an hour I sussed that the inner cable just hooks through a loop on the lock, and the sheath is not secured at the lock end at all. Put it back together and all is fine - Phew.
Whilst I was in the door, I greased the window mechanism, and applied a good dose of silicon lube from Halfrauds to the window rubber guides. The windoew now works better than ever.
Going to fit M4 wing nuts to the studs in the door just incase i ever have to go in there again.
Guess I will have to sort out the passenger door window now to match !

Just started a thread about my problem with a passenger side door lock - then saw your post.
"The key won't turn in the lock and I can't depress the button (even if I try holding the handle up with the door open)."
Does this sound like the same problem you had? Any tips on the fix of this would be most welcome. Your post sounds like it was a bit of a headache??
