Bar yes, but no food all weekend as they admit that they only cater for business clients midweek. Not even a stale cheese cob was available !
For me their is more atmosphere in a B&Q car park.
Oh yeah... I didnt like the place

Hey Chris find somewhere near sunny Grantham.What about the Mottram hall hotel near alderly edge/macclesfield. Great hotel,great restaurant and bar area, 18 hole golf course if you must,health club for the morning after,but best of all some fantastic roads heading out of macclesfield towards buxton. Worth considering. P.S its about 30 miles for me thats why i reccomend it,also stayed there once,the bar in the evening was just full of gorgeous women.Glad the wife never reads this forum.
I reckon to be fair to everyone we should select somewhere central... like Haltwhistle in Northumberland.

Guys - this is a serious suggestion.
I have no idea if they would consider a 'car' type meeting, but I'm guessing business is business.

They had a serious fire and the main hall is being refurbished (it burned to a shell, absolutely tragic).
It is due to reopen 'Summer' 2008. However even if this does not happen, they have 76 bedrooms on site, restaurant, bar etc, and more importantly loads and loads of outdoor space.
I managed a lot of work there after the fire (new phone system, cabling etc) to get them up and running again, and its one of my all time favourite sites to visit.
It is just off the A1, very easy to find just south of Grantham, and is an absolutely beautiful setting.
The hall is owned by the National Union of Teachers.
Also a bit of meaningless trivia is Geoff Capes lives in Stoke Rochford and has close links with the hall, so he may well come and have a look to see what we are up to.
The fact that it is 20 minutes from my house of course has no bearing at all!

Personnaly I would prefer somewhere that has other attractions. This year was perfect @ Coventry and the 3 'Big Northern Gathering' that I've been to have all been great (last 2 years have been at stately homes near York and Ripon and this year at Elvington Air Museum @ York).
One suggestion would be Donnington Race Track - Big car park, that also has the 'THE DONINGTON
GRAND PRIX COLLECTION'. We stopped here on the way down to Rockingham last month. If you like race cars this is well worth a visit.

When planning this year's event I said we would get about 100 cars and we need a venue that can take this number.
We do get some visiting "other" TVRs but not that many.
Looks like we're getting someone on board to organise next year's event as I will be standing down. Are you up for it Chris?
