Dark red S on transporter on M27

On the way from the ferry back home I there was a dark red S with Chim wheels on the back of a transporter. Excahnged waves with the driver/passenger in the cab - was it anyone here? if so, did you break down the french side or english? Was rather worried that my car was getting very very hot in traffic jams around Alencon and I didnt have any insurance cover to "get me home"!
