Whhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaay!

Woke up at 4am this morning! Then 5am. Then 6am, by 7am I was up and waiting for my lift...

Wow. Incredible. Such a great drive - even the M25 didn't seem (quite) so bad. Hi to the driver of the light blue/green Chimaera that waved at me (outside lane, M25 near Heathrow 11:30am)

Pictures to come. No time tonight as got to take the wife to her concert (she's the star ). I'll be in black tie so expect to get a few looks on the way

Thank YOU ALL SO MUCH for advice and encouragement over the last few months.

Have faith dear boy!

You too will soon be worrying about whether it's going to overheat, and windows deciding that they're just NOT going to go back up...

Cheers guys. Just got in from the concert - where the car had pride of place in the car park and had LOTS of admirers during the interval. Need a big drink Suddenly I seem to want to drive everywhere.

Got a day of sorting lights tomorrow as found out a break light, side light, inside vanity light and the front driving (fog) lights don't work The break light I knew about and just needed a bulb (bought that ready). Lets hope the others are the same. I'd imagine the driving (fog) light might be more - the light on the switch doesn't illuminate?

Couple of questions though:

The dial that controls the instrument lights. Does that just do on/off or should it be variable?

Do the air blowers actually do anything??! I get a bit of air out the middle left but almost nothing out the side ones?

One last question, if I may. For bulbs, do I just check the wattage in the manual, remove the bulbs and show them at Halfords or is there a list of part numbers anywhere. Had a look around but couldn't find one? I"ll need:

side light bulb x 1
driving lights bulbs x 2
vanity light bulb x 1

Other than that lot, great so far. Less wrong than the last car I bought...

Welcome !
The 2 position switch for the dash lights on my s3 only switch the lights on or off, like yours. I cant tell if thats right or not, bit consistant with mine.

My blowers worked fine until the switch packed up, so now I only get low speed which is next to useless. (check the switch & fan)

One of my front fogs is playing up. It seems to be a bad connection in the wiring connector near the inner wheel arch. Im planning to have a look tomorrow.

Sounds like you have similar issues as me. There only minor. They shouldnt distract you from having a good spin tomnorrow. It should be TreVoR weather tomorrow.
Enjoy !

Oh . My fault it is raining - new owner and all

Just took the wife to Church. No leaks I could see, car nice and dry and snug inside. Started spot on too

I was very cautious after all the wet handling stories I've heard but it seem to hold pretty well, a lot better than my Calibra. Probably driving it like an old granny though

So much for Brotherly love.

I have emailed him twice (from 6000 miles away) to see how the new Tiv was going. No reply - so I have to read about it on Pistonheads.

I was expecting : but it seems more a case of ::::::::::::::

Anyway glad its all going well - suggest a drive out into the country for whn I get home to celebrate being a 2 TVR family.

mine's still faster though

It gets like that

Neither does mine. Lights work ok, but I have to crane forward to see if they are on or not, (fogs). I've found I need to press down on the switch as its obviously got a loose connection.

Mine is 2 position - yours may differ. Remember, your TVR is unique, just like everyone else's

Pipes have a habit of getting dislodged if there has been any work done in that area, possible that they are not conencted. I'd not worry too much, the blowers are pretty efficient. Rare that mine is one 2nd position.

Get used to blank looks from anyone in Halfords when you say you've a TVR.. Rear lights are from Escorts, mainbeam I took out and found something that looked like it fitted and it did. I'd not suggest replacing the mains with 100/80W as they are illegal on the roads and only suitable for off road use. But I've heard of it being done

Have had a few minor problems but nothing that can't be fixed reasonably easily, (usually via a scream for help here..). Buy yourself a copy of Steve Heath's workshop manual and have fun..

Nice pics BTW..

Edited to add - Nearly forgot.. There is a parts list.. Can't remember where, but doi a search backwards in the archives and it will turn up..

Congrats P3 it looks a right little cracker, well done.
Now a little advice, fix the brake light forget the other bits and bobs like heater switches, blowers and instrument lights. They can wait.

Just get out and DRIVE IT!!!

My 5 minutes to fetch the paper is at least an hour on the Tour of Lincs!!!
