The Classic S1

The insurance is incredibly cheap as the S1 is now classified as a classic car. I currently drive a BMW M3 EVO and my insurance is £2000 a year!!
If you are looking at the S as a 2nd car you will find that you can get cheap insurance on any of them if you limit your mileage.. I plumped for an S3 as I decided I'd never use the eurobox again so went for the latest I could get..carlrigby said:

Agree with everyone else, S2 £315 not garaged 5000 miles with www.footmanjames.co.uk
Had my 94 'S', 8 years old, insured last year as a 'future classic' with ClasicLine, around £250 for 3K miles
.
They consider the S, with it very limited claim ratio, to be 'good' car to insure (hope rens incident hasn't affected that
, no offence btw ren).
This year I'm with sunninghill for £330 at 6K and unlimited track days
.
Both as second garaged car, over 40 years old.

I may as well add mine, as also impressed with Classic Line: £260 fully comp for 1500 miles pa (can go up to 3000 miles for extra £30 etc). This is my first ever TVR, I'm 33, and my wife is insured too, and she's only 28.
Oh yes, and I don't have a garage either, and.... I get to keep my no claims bonus on the family car too - they are happy to 'mirror'(?)my NCB. Don't know why, but I'm happy so who cares!

Ok, mine too.. Peart, about £700, fully comp, unlimited mileage, business use on top. Its my only car, and am 33 with full NCB.
Am ok for track days, but oddly if I uprate the brakes and/or add a roll bar then no longer covered. Another thing, not sure if its Peart, (brokers) or the insurance co themselves, but effectively you get a 7% discount if you do not use it for business, (I drive to and from several different places). Currently getting a letter from them to confirm this and try to get the extra cash back from my insurers..
