hi anybody know the part nos for a complete clutch and a water pump for a s2 thanks guys

The QH online catalogue linked from here http://www2.qha.com/ might be helpful in your search, it includes water pumps and clutches. Search on Scorpio rather than Granada for the 2.9 and if you click the link for the products it displays it brings up another page with a very useful cross reference list and other data.

Water pumps look to be pretty straightforward but how you work out which clutch parts you need is beyond me. Best advice I've seen on a PH search is to take the bits to your friendly local motor factors and get them to match them up. There was also something about having to skim the flywheel for some reason on another thread, might be worth tracing that one to find out why it might need to be done.

RE flyhweel issue, Having had 8 or 9 of these cars all having the same issue to solve...this is where the generic Ford clutch plate when bedded in then begins to slip under load (3rd-4th gears). The rivets on the centre fingers of the plate clash with the I.D. of the flywheel face and you need to be check that the rivets have enough relief to allow the plate work correctly. IF needed machine 1.5mm deep by 2mm off the inner face of the flywheel.

I fitted a Motaquip VWP426 to my S3 so I assume its the same water pump for your S2 - 2.9 engine I assume. A motor factor will generally be able to cross reference from that number if you don't have a friendly Motaquip lot near you.
