There are obviously lots of us doing work of varying degrees on the chassis on these cars, with lots of questions being asked about dimensions etc.Can anyone tell me who I coud contact to try and get a set of Blueprints for the Chassis or could anyone on here draw a set if we could collectively decide on the dimensions.It would provide a definitive, quick answer each time one of us needs the details. if necessary I am more than willing to write,email, or phone and request the info, I just dont know who to write,email,or get on the phone to. If someone is prepared to draw them (we must have a draughtsman somewhere), I have an old chassis waiting for repair which appears straight (but very corroded) from which I can take most measurements, and I noticed someone on here has access to some very hi-tech sounding measuring equipment, maybe we could utilise that??

Original drawings would be better.
Reverse engineering the chassis is possible, constuction data collection / measurement would take a days work - however the chassis would need to be clean for accuracy - to fully model it up would take 40 ish hours, maybe longer as I had basic training early Dec, I will be doing design, advanced surfacing and drafting in throughout next year (this is nothing to do with the measurement software)- timing has been arranged but I have not looked when they are yet, the current software I use is being turned off in Jan, this will cause alot of problems for us- but probably the best / fastest way to learn.
The way that worked is that you did your design in 3D and the 2D drawing would be automatically created according to your view and dimensioned up after, this new software should be similar. I am starting to find my way around it and we have some external high level users on site to support any problems / lack of knowhow - best way to learn self for me is doing my S3 and then asking the support chaps how they would have done it - and getting to help in their spare time - they are charging us £800 per day each person, therefore I want my monies worth.
I have attached another photo hopefully it will give a closer look at some of the dimensions.
We have a better bit of kit at work for measurement - laser scanner 15000 points per sec, unfortunatly it is always very busy - over a week end may be possible, the one that I used on mine is just a bit slower and creates geometry by collecting single points, the laser scanner blankets absolutely every thing to fantastic detail.

I have decided to shot blast my S3 chassis, therefore I will measure end of Jan (ish). The data will be in CAD as above, all dimensions / intersections will be available and supplied when requested, if the original drawings are not made available. I have finished reverse engineering the rear wheel arch seat beat mounting bracket. Are there any ex TVR employees / engineers that know where they contructed the carline datum point from ? Ours at work is the body in white sub frame mounting points - front and rear, then moved to a theoretical point between the front wheels. Otherwise we will have to decide where the origin should be or some known jig points could be used and translated to the TVR co ordinate system.

At my work we have some engineers working with Catia V5. Maybe I can ask 1 of them to have a look at your work sofar in V5 and maybe the have some advice for you for free. I myself have no experience with CAD work. When the model is ready its also possible to print 2D models on any size from A0. If you mail me the V5 model can have a look after xmas holidays.

Thanks for the offer - the bit I will struggle with is the 3D to the 2D drawing. There is alot of info missing at the moment - I still have my engine in and fuel tank, therefore the car will be stripped shortly and measurement can start. The support where I work will be on site for at least 3 months and I will be making sure that they are kept busy.
