S2 slow wiper motor

Hi I have just become the owner of a 1989 S2 and two things that are obviously wrong one is the windscreen wipers are extremely slow as is the electric windows. I have read on the forum that the I will probably have to live with the slow windows but will have to sort out the wipers. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know the cure. Cheers Alan
mine is exactly the same on the left hand side, at times I have to give the window a helping hand to get it moving. Guess it's one of the many little quirks these cars have and nothing to worry about. My wing mirror that side also only works to a certain degree, and you'll probably find everything steams up at the moment including the some of the instrument dials.

My S2 also has slow wipers, always has done. If they are a problem, then I suggest checking that the wiper motor is getting the full 12V when running. The wiring or ground to the chassis could be at fault, and a few volts dropped will really slow the motor.
For windows, try spraying a silicon lubricant along the length of the window rubbers, this helps the window move, and has improved the speed of mine. Halfords will sell this.

Thanks for the suggestion I am going to respray the car in Feb. so will hang on till then and check it out while off the road if I come up with an answer will let you know. Regards Alan
