paint blistering

I have just developed a nasty rash - by the petrol filler cap on my V8s. I am not sure if it is spreading. I would be grateful for any thoughts as to why it may have happened and what I can do about it. Does it mean a whole respray or can I touch it up although it is quite big. The colour is cooper green

It looks like the lacquer has lifted to me. Metallic paint is quite soft with a hard protective lacquer which also gives it a good shine. A good paintshop should be able to easily repair it without having to mess about with the original paint.
