Fuel pipe routing.

I'm just about to refit my fuel pipe between the fuel tank and the fuel pump (the big fat one). Unfortunately I can't remember where it goes. I think it runs next to the bottom chassis tube (i.e. below the driveshaft) and below the diff/propshaft area. Does anybody know of this is correct?

I took this pipe off my V8S last week - I don't know if it is the same but mine runs round the swirl tank (the round bit at the bottom of the tank) towards the rear of the car then up through a hole in the metal tank cradle to a small cavity in the body under the boot where the fuel pump lives.
Mine also has a heat shield on it as its near the exhaust.

Thanks Chris, but the S2 is different and the fuel pump lives just in front of the passenger's rear wheel.

Any S2 owners know?

On my S1.5 it runs from the swirl pot at the bottom of the tank forward over the top of the chassis section which runs across the car. (The tank has a small recess to give room for the hose to go through). It is then tie wrapped to the inner face of the n/s chassis rail, below the driveshaft, before heading up towards the fuel pump. Its all a bit vulnerable down there which is why it is advisable to stick with the original spec steel reinforced pipe.

I've got it back on now, I just needed somebody to confirm it went UNDER the driveshaft as it didn't look right when I first fitted it.

Hi Mikee - yep your right the large pipe goes under the drive shaft.
