Steering bush part no?

Hi all,

Does anyone know the part no for my S3 steering rack mounting rubber ?
Chevette modified rack I believe and it looks like its going to be a swine to fit.



Thanks in advance for any help it will be used.

I've been looking for some of them for a good while. I spoke to Neil at tvrcarparts and he said he could match them up if I cut the old ones off and sent them to him, haven't done that yet. He said that the new mounts will stretch over that flange ok.

Hi all,

I rang various motor factors today for a rack rubber -

Chevette is that American, the young man said.

Basically no one had a clue, therefore I will ring TVR devon and send one of mine down for matching as Spludge suggests.

Hi Chris,

thanks for the link, I have cut one off (the one in the picture) and it has been sent to TVR devon this morning, hopefully they will match it.

TVR Devon could not match my steering rack mounting rubber, apparently they are very difficult to get hold of, I will try the above previous thread and see if I get any luck.

Hi all,

I got polyslip replacement bushes for the steering rack, with new machined brackets from tjmotorsport , £51.50 inc post, a bit steep, however the other garages mentioned in one of the above replies had one or two original rubber ones which where £15 each + post, so I did not think it was so bad.
