Refurbishing Steering Rack - V8S

Dear All

Ive been advised that my Steering Rack will need some attention in the near future - i.e. refurbishing or replacing.

I think that you cant get new ones any more so refurbishing is the only route.

Canyone tell me where to go, and how much it roughly costs.

Ideally I need somewhere in the Midlands /North but will go further...

Not up north, I'm sure there will be someone more local to you but I had mine refurbished earlier this year. New bushes, rack teeth tidied up, new rod ends, unit completely stripped and re painted, new gators and new clamp bushes on the chassis, it's as good as new all in around the £100 mark. That was via Andy at APM who uses someone local to him. If you are stuck I'm sure you/he could arrange a delivery/collection. Really made a massive difference in the steering feel, I don't suppose it has been as good since the day it left the factory .

You'll find Andy in the small adds at the back of Sprint, 07740723673. He's near Liphook off the A3 in Hants. As said previously you may have someone nearer that could provide a similar service, RT racing maybe .

Don't know how true this is or how easy. I was over at Thames Valley Racetech the other week and was chatting to one of the guys. He said that they could replace the steering rack with a racing one.

Speak to Adrian at Exactly TVR (number in Sprint) he sends them to be refurbed by the original manufacturer TVR got them from. (Coventry area)

not expensive and makes a hell of a difference!!

Try RT Racing in Sheffield or SFK in Stockport, both numbers are in Sprint
