Advice on a new hood requested

Hi all, hope everyone is rubbing there has together and enjoying the sun we're getting at the moment.
I'm looking to replace my hood, its getting long in the tooth and really needs looking at.
I've done some digging around and found a few suppliers/fitters etc. I've contacted Rawles and their quote was considerably more than that of the others... although they said this was because the hood was custom made and fitted to my individual car, not based on a kit. Another supplier, AJ Trimmers was far more reasonable and again cuts the hood from material but bases it on the hood being replaced (the original in my case). I've also spoken to a number of suppliers that buy and fit the kits who come in at the same level as AJ.
I'm being advised against a kit based replacement because they will not fit as well, are more likely to leak, and will sag after 6 months/year.
Does anyone have any experience/advice as I'd rather avoid a costly mistake (either from over paying or having to have it done twice!) and I've nothing other than vendors advice to go on?

Here is a link to an article I wrote when I replaced the hood on my S a few years ago. The hood was great quality and fitting it was relatively straight forward if your happy with trimming. The tricky bot was getting the tension right.

AJ Trimming has a very good reputation and I would have used him myself, but he was about to go on honeymoon and wasn;t able to take a booking in the sort of time I needed to get it done.
