What size are the torx driveshaft bolts?

For some reason I thought they were T40, but evidently not as they are bigger.

I wouldn't dispute yours are T45 but mine are definately T40, presumably at somepoint someone realised the T40 fitment is too easy to snap so they may have incresed the size on later models , maybe?? either that or mine are just wrong. I removed the arms off an S1 recently and they too were T40.

Definately not T40 its bigger.
No doubt TVR used whatever they could get hold of.

1989 S2. Mine are T40. The problem I had was with the bits snapping when I thries to remove them. I had to grind the heads off 2 of them in the end. The stumps were easy to remove after that.

When I refitted them I was surprised how low the torque setting was. I think mine has been overtightened in the past.

I've just ordered an impact torx T45 1/2" drive from cromwell tools £5.69 + Vat. Hopefully it will be up to the job.

Id be interested to know how you get on with the "impact" version, I need to get a new one(or 2) as the ones I have been using snap for fun. If its a goer I'll order an impact version for mine.
Out of interest I found the longer bits were a bit more succesful on the Diff end as they allowed the tool to enter in line with the socket head, I think it was the rubber boot that kicks the short ones out of line a bit.

Hopefully it will fit in - there seems to be plenty of room round the bolts maybe because its a V8 with Limited slip diff?

Bought the Machine Mart ones - they fit a treat.
I think the other one would have been very tight against the driveshaft rubber cover.
I wasn't committed to buying the other one anyway so no harm done.
I figured that £30 worth of torx driver will pay for itself if I can get all the bolts out in one piece, plus if I used a cheaper one I'd probably get through a few of them anyway.
